Be invited to a musical journey that delves into one of the most urgent issues of our time: the climate and ecological crisis. 'Hot Stuff' is a series of music, a come together with delicious vegan food, a place for discussion and an invitation to stand together, dancing, shouting, crying, screaming and enjoying. Receive it as a present, a light point in dark times.
Above all it is also an empowerment to action through the elements of Earth (20th of January), Water (17th March) and Fire.
- Fire on 21 April 2024: Get ready to be engulfed in the fiery passion of music that echo the urgency of climate action. Feel the heat of commitment to protect our planet. Feel the vibrance to scream and stand up for action.
With:
Zea is Arnold de Boer (also singer and guitarist in The Ex): minimal, full-on, electric, acoustic, heart-felt, strange- edge.
"Arnold de Boer needs no introduction as the current lead singer of Dutch punk legends, The Ex. His vibrant, empathetic solo project, Zea, has been for going on two decades, knocking out a succession of low key classics with the aid of a guitar and a repertoire of samples. A new single in classic Zea vein, ‘Agency / My First Friends Were Animals’ is hot off the pressing plates. A timely record, too; dealing with the matters of electoral representation, waste and the general mess we find the planet in. But it’s a fun listen, we promise!
Kiss my Knoblauch:
Slugs, cockroaches, kliko’s, fritessaus and toxic armpits brought to you by Fishra (she/her) and B.Ruiz (they/them) in a stew of gothic utopias and stinky critique. Expect rapid words over DIY beats and catchy synth tunes with trumpet doodles. An alarm to shake us out of our paradigm and a lullaby to soothe us into a new one. Keep your eyes wet and your fists big.
Kiss the earth you scum, a performance made by Karlijn Hamer in collaboration with Julie Kurris and Matthijs De Valk.
SCUM gives anger a stage. With energetic punk music and performance, they express their anger by shouting and stomping about all the crap in this world. The floor becomes a living effects pedal. Roar against the toxic patriarchy and climate collapse. Join this collective outburst that you can't help but be swept away by. More adrenaline, more danger, more determination, and a higher heart rate.
Join us at 'Hot Stuff' to raise awareness for our environment. Let's harmonize our voices and actions for a greener, sustainable future – We seek for the hottest music for a cooler planet! #HotStuffSeries"
